Voters happy with Thai election results

Many voters are happy with the results of the May 14 nationwide election and, according to a recent poll, they would make the same choice if they had a second chance.

The study, conducted by the National Development Institute (Nida), covered 1,310 people aged 18 and over across the country from May 16 to 18. Respondents' answers were selected using a simple random sampling method with an accuracy of 97%.

When asked what they would do if they had to go to the polls again, the respondents answered the following:

  • 86.49%: will vote for the same candidates from their constituency and party list. 6.03%: Will make a different choice for both constituency and party list candidates.
  • 3.13%: choose the same constituency candidate.
  • 2.37%: will not participate in the elections.
  • 1.98%: will elect the same candidate on the party list.

When asked if they were satisfied with the results of the elections in their constituencies, the respondents answered:

  • 59.08%: very satisfied.
  • 26.87%: Satisfied.
  • 8.86%: not very satisfied.
  • 5.19%: not at all satisfied.

When asked if they were satisfied with the overall results of the elections, the respondents answered:

  • 59.39%: very satisfied.
  • 30.07%: Satisfied.
  • 6.95%: not very satisfied.
  • 3.59%: not at all satisfied.
