The Electoral Commission of Thailand has provided instructions for those wishing to vote early. In the elections, which will be held throughout the country on May 14, citizens will be able to vote in advance on May 7 from 8:00 to 17:00. In total, more than 2 million people registered to participate in the pre-election voting from March 25 to April 9.
According to the election commission, registered people must vote for a candidate in their constituency. If a citizen registered in one district cannot vote in his district, then he can go to the polling station in the district where he is registered to vote and vote for a candidate in his district.
However, the Electoral Commission warns voters to be careful about choosing a candidate in their constituency and a candidate for parliament on the list of parties. The polling station will provide information on candidates by constituency and numbers of candidates for parliament on the list of parties. It is better to know the number of your candidate and party in advance so that there is no confusion when voting.
The Electoral Commission also reminds citizens that they can check information about candidates and party numbers in the Smart Vote app. The Board of Elections ensures that the county list of candidates is posted at the polling station to assist voters during voting.
