Small error on Nonthaburi early voting: voting envelopes with incorrect code

During the first hours of early voting in Nonthaburi, a small mistake was made: the first 100 ballot envelopes had the wrong postal code instead of the provincial voter code. This was announced by the head of the Electoral Commission.

However, a decision was quickly made to withdraw these 100 envelopes and correct them. The head of the commission assured the voters that their votes would not be lost and that the envelopes would be sent to the correct constituencies after the error was corrected.

The head of the commission explained that in the first minutes of work, employees mistakenly entered postal codes instead of selective provincial codes. After the error was discovered, the staff quickly isolated the box of incorrect envelopes to correct the error.

As the head of the commission noted, such a mistake will not be repeated in the elections on voting day, since it does not require sending by mail. Voters will simply go to the polls in their constituencies on May 14th.

Despite a small slip, Nonthaburi registered a large number of votes in the early voting, indicating a high level of voter turnout.
