Bangkok introduces fast ambulatory motorcycles to enhance emergency care delivery
In a ground-breaking initiative aimed at improving the delivery of emergency medical care, the Bangkok Metropolitan Administration (BMA) proudly unveiled its first fleet of 50 ambulatory motorcycles, colloquially referred to as 'motor lunches'. This innovative project is set to revolutionize the way life-saving aid is delivered in Bangkok's busy urban landscape.
With the urban hustle and bustle and traffic jams that characterize Bangkok, BMA has taken a major step forward in the delivery of emergency medical care. The newly launched motorized sleds are set to become critical lifesavers, efficiently navigating the city's busy streets and reaching victims in record time, something four-wheeled ambulances often cannot do.

Under the visionary leadership of VMA Governor Chadchart Sittipunt, the first 50 vehicles were unveiled at the BMA Expo 2023 held at the picturesque Benchakitti Park. Each 'motorized luncheon', equipped with the latest life-saving equipment, will be operated by specially trained personnel stationed at various hospitals in the city.
The riders on the motorized sleds, clad in "two-wheeled angel" capes, will act as medics, navigating narrow streets and alleys where conventional ambulances find it difficult to quickly access a serious patient. With the ability to reach the patient within just eight minutes of an ambulance call, these motorcycles could save many lives across Bangkok.
Motorlance Thailand Network joins forces with Bangkok hospitals to pave the way for revolutionizing urban medical care
Motorlance Thailand Network, a non-profit organization inspired by the desire to improve quality of life and emergency medical care, has joined forces with several Bangkok hospitals for an unprecedented urban medical care project. The Motorlance initiative, supported by state-of-the-art technology, promises to redefine the delivery of emergency medical care and significantly impact patient-saving outcomes.

The collaboration between the Motorlance Thailand network and Bangkok hospitals marks a significant milestone in the development of emergency medical services in a bustling metropolis. The Motorlance project, inspired by successful motorcycle ambulance models used around the world, aims to create a fast and efficient response system to reduce emergency medical response times.
A fleet of 50 motorcycle rickshaws covering all 50 districts of Bangkok is the first step in this transformative endeavor. However, visionary BMA Governor Chadchart Sittipunt envisions an even larger fleet, with plans to expand the brigade to around 200-300 vehicles in the future.
Equipped with state-of-the-art technology, the motorcyclists act as operational personnel carrying the necessary life-saving tools and able to make a preliminary diagnosis at the scene. Real-time communication via built-in cameras ensures seamless coordination with the National Institute of Emergency Medicine's Urban Medical Care Center (UMSC). Qualified UMSC physicians can provide critical guidance to drivers on the scene, facilitating quick and informed patient transport decisions.
In addition to the immediate benefits for critical patients, this initiative will also reduce the cost of traveling to the hospital and save time for non-critical cases. By optimizing emergency response and medical services, the motorlance project aims to improve the overall quality of health care in Bangkok.
