Service failure at BTS: Delays and passenger dissatisfaction

The aftermath of a service outage on the Lat Phrao - Mor Chit line has caused delays affecting the Sukhumvit Line route, the Bangkok Mass Transport System (BTS) train operator said.

Discussions erupted on social media as Skytrain BTS announced a service disruption on the Lat Phrao - Mor Chit section causing a 30-minute delay that also affected the Sukhumvit Line and led to a huge number of passengers stranded at the Lat Crossing Station Phrao.

The station became overcrowded as passengers were unable to board the trains while more and more passengers disembarked from trains arriving from Chatuchak station.

Social media users, especially on Twitter, have been sharing information about the disruption of BTS. In addition, there was a malfunction in the air conditioning system, forcing passengers to open windows to get fresh air in hot weather.

Many Facebook users expressed their dissatisfaction with the lack of prior notice and called on the authorities to address this issue, as well as to give a discount to those affected by the train delay.

According to the latest update received at 10:15 am, BTS services were resumed, but there were still a large number of passengers at the station waiting to depart.
