Caution, thunderstorms and extreme heat: seasonal risks for the people of Thailand

The Thai Meteorological Department has warned residents of upcoming thunderstorms, hail and extreme heat that will last until Saturday. In the central regions, including Greater Bangkok, a lightning storm is expected on Monday and Tuesday. However, some areas will have thunderstorms until Saturday, and temperatures could also reach 42 degrees Celsius in many areas.

To prevent heat stroke, people are advised to drink more water and avoid the sun. In addition, the Meteorological Department predicts heavy rain in the north and east of Thailand, and hail is also possible in some areas.

Fishermen in the south are advised not to go out to sea until Saturday due to heavy rains caused by increased southwesterly winds. High waves are expected in the Gulf of Thailand.

During a lightning storm, people are advised to stay indoors. If they are forced to go outside, then they should not be near tall trees, billboards. You should also avoid using mobile phones or carrying metal objects during thunderstorms to reduce the risk of being struck by lightning.
