Chronology of events
On August 13, 2023, the body of 32-year-old Russian citizen Daria Yuzifyak was found in the Thai resort town of Pattaya. The girl died after falling out of the window of the seventh floor of the Seven Seas Condo Resort condominium.
Detention and interrogation of the boyfriend of the victim
Daria's boyfriend, 30-year-old Russian citizen Oeayop Nbahobni Fedor, was detained by police and taken to Najomtien station for questioning. The young man is charged with hooliganism and drunkenness. Investigators are trying to find out the circumstances surrounding the girl's death and Fedor's role in the incident.
According to police, the suspect was in a state of alcohol intoxication and refused to cooperate with the investigation. In his initial testimony, he stated that he was not in the room at the time of Daria's fall from the window.
However, this version contradicts the recordings from the video surveillance cameras of the condominium. They show Fedor briefly grabbing the girl's legs and then releasing her. After that, Yuzifiak falls out of the window and dies.
The situation in the room and possible motives
When the room was examined, there were signs of alcohol consumption - two empty liquor bottles. The room was untidy and cluttered, but police found no signs of a struggle.
It is known that two days before her death, on August 11, Daria went to the police to report the loss of her passport. She had also consulted the immigration service about returning to her home country.
These facts suggest possible conflicts between the couple and the girl's desire to leave Fedor. However, there are not yet enough facts to charge him with premeditated murder.
Current status of the investigation
Police tried to get a warrant for Fedor's arrest on suspicion of murder, but the court did not issue one due to insufficient evidence.
The investigation is ongoing. Law enforcement agencies are collecting additional evidence and interviewing possible witnesses to clarify the picture of the Russian woman's death.
It is still unclear whether her death was an accident, suicide or murder. The investigation into this high-profile incident in Pattaya is under the control of the Thai authorities.
