Elections are always an important event for any country. In Thailand, elections are held according to an established procedure that includes eight steps. First, after polling stations close, Electoral Commission (EC) officials check the number of ballots received at each polling station against the number of voters who have come to the polling station and registered to vote.
At the same time, each EC employee will be required to sign the voting protocol to confirm its accuracy.
EC staff will then open the ballot boxes and begin counting the ballots, conducting this process in front of observers. It is important to note that the counting of votes must take place without any delay.
After the end of the counting of votes in each precinct, EC staff will announce the results of the elections - both in terms of constitutional districts and party lists. This will happen at the polling station itself, where there will be representatives of political parties, observers and ordinary citizens.
All polling and security officers will send the election results to the appropriate EC district office. This office, in turn, will check the number of ballots received, as well as all election-related machinery and equipment. After that, both the EC district office employee and the EC polling station employee must confirm with their signature that there were no violations.
Next, the EC district office will add the votes from all the polling stations in its district. Once this process is completed, the results of the vote will be announced and sent to the provincial EC office.
