Record voter turnout and gratitude for the successful conduct of elections in Thailand

The Central Electoral Commission on Wednesday thanked everyone from voters to the National Cyber Security Agency for their support in ensuring a successful election on Sunday, which turned out to be a record voter turnout.

"The Central Electoral Commission would like to express its gratitude for the cooperation and support during this important parliamentary election. We look forward to further cooperation in the future," the statement said, specifically mentioning the Royal Thai Police, Provincial Electricity, Thailand Post and the National Agency cybersecurity.

"The Central Electoral Commission would also like to thank the candidates from political parties, the media, celebrities and especially voters for their good faith cooperation," the statement said.

More than a million employees worked at 94,755 polling stations across the country, with each station requiring a minimum of nine people, two security guards and voter assistance volunteers, the statement said.

Voter turnout reached a record 75% in Sunday's elections. About 32 million people out of 52 million people who had the right to vote.

With the further development of new technologies and the increasing involvement of citizens in the political process, elections are becoming an important event that contributes to the formation of civil society. Thailand is a prime example of a country where democratic elections are held with the participation of millions of voters.
