Busan World Expo 2030: showcase of South Korean culture and gastronomy in Thailand

The Embassy of the Republic of Korea and the Cultural Center in Thailand hosted the opening of the exhibition "Busan World Expo 2030 - Experience Busan Tourism and Local Cuisine Like a Movie", which will run from May 2 to June 30. The purpose of the exhibition is to support Busan in the competition to host the 2030 World Expo.

The exhibition will feature tourist spots in Busan, which have become the backdrop for popular TV series such as "My Name", "D.P." and "The King: Eternal Monarch". Visitors can also enjoy Busan's local cuisine, including "Dwaeji Gukbap (pork noodles in soup)", "Milmyeon (cold wheat noodles with soup)" and "Busan Eomuk (fish cake)".

Before the ceremony, guests left their messages of support on the wall and watched a video presentation from K-pop group BTS, who became honorary ambassadors for Busan World Expo 2030.

At the ceremony, Shin Min Won, a former instructor at Busan University, performed the song "We Will Be One" in support of "Busan World Expo 2030".

Afterwards, guests enjoyed local Busan cuisine prepared by three Korean restaurants in Bangkok: Myung Ga, Lee Ga and Dongdaemun. Director of the center Cho Jae-il and director of the Korea Tourism Organization in Bangkok Yi Shang-woo treated guests to "Dwaeji Gukbap" and "Milmyeon" and talked about how to eat these typical dishes.

In order to promote the culture and gastronomy of Busan, the Cultural Center will sell local dishes every day from 14:00 at a reasonable price.
