In honor of the anniversary of the establishment of Rattanakosin in 1782 and in celebration of the royal Chakri dynasty, the Bangkok Mass Transport Authority (BMTA) organized free bus rides to Bangkok's 11 temples from Friday to Tuesday. This idea has become a great opportunity for tourists and locals to get acquainted with the beauty of Thai architecture and the culture of Buddhism.
For trips, five buses will be allocated, which will run from 9 am to 6 pm, departing every 20 minutes.
You can wait for buses at the National Museum or at one of the 11 temples on the list.
Among them:
- Wat Chana Songkhram,
- Wat Bowonniwet Vihara,
- Wat Benchamabophit,
- Wat Ratchanatdaram,
- Wat Saket,
- Wat Suthat,
- Wat Ratchabophit,
- Wat Ratchapradit,
- Wat Prayurawongsawat,
- Wat Phra Chetuphon (Wat Pho),
- Wat Mahathat Yuwaratrangsarit.
Free bus rides are not only a great opportunity to visit temples and experience Thai culture. In addition, it is also a great way to spend time on the weekend, avoiding traffic jams and expensive trips by taxi or other public transport.
