Ready for the Holidays: Safety and Order on Khao San Road During the Songkran Festival

More than 30,000 tourists, mostly from China, are expected to come to Khaosan Road to celebrate the Songkran holiday, according to Colonel Attaporn Wongsiriprid of the Metropolitan Police Division 1. In this regard, 7 control points will be deployed on the street to ensure order and security.

Khaosan road business owners, along with police and volunteers, will work together to ensure the safety of tourists during the Songkran festival.

In addition, the fire department will check cafes, hotels, and crowded places to make sure they have enough fire extinguishers, a fire suppression system, and a fire alarm system.

For quick communication and coordination in case of emergency, security guards and volunteers will be equipped with radios, and 3 emergency communication points will be deployed on Khaosan Road.

As additional security measures, steps are being taken to prevent any photographic espionage by tourists, as well as disinfection of the streets before the start of the festival and daily garbage collection.

Overall, with this willingness and coordination among business owners, law enforcement and volunteers, tourists will be able to enjoy a safe and enjoyable Songkran holiday on Khaosan Road.
