How Russians and Europeans fight over sunbeds

In recent months, popular tourist cities in Thailand, such as Pattaya, have seen increasing conflicts between Russian and European vacationers over the fight for sunbeds at pools and beaches.

According to British media reports, Russians who came to Thailand use "towel tactics" - occupy from early morning all the free sunbeds, leaving their towels on them.

This causes great irritation to tourists from Britain, Germany and other European countries who came on vacation with their families. They complain that they can not find free places by the pool,

There are cases of rude and aggressive behavior on the part of Russians when Europeans try to occupy the sun beds "reserved" in this way.

At the same time, the hotel administration often stands aside and does not regulate the situation, which further frustrates European guests.

The Sun quotes the words of a Briton who visited one of the hotels in Pattaya: "It seems that the Russians are 95% here, all the sun beds are occupied in the morning, although only Germans used to do it".

Searching for a solution

To improve the situation, experts suggest that hotels introduce clear rules on the use of vacation infrastructure.

For example, to set time limits for the occupation of sunbeds or to charge an additional fee for prolonged use of sunbeds.

In addition, it is worth more actively involving employees in the regulation of conflicts between vacationers and prevent aggressive actions.

It is also important to strengthen the work on education of behavioral culture and etiquette among all hotel guests. This will help to avoid rudeness and violation of the rights of other tourists.

Such measures in combination with understanding, patience and respect from the vacationers themselves will help to smooth out the problem and make the vacation comfortable for all.
