Thailand tourism market to grow to $76 billion by 2032

A Future Market Insights report on Thailand's tourism market showed that the country's tourism industry, which is valued at $57 billion in 2022, is growing at 3% per year. According to forecasts, by 2032 it will reach $76.60 billion.

Many factors are driving the growth in the number of tourists and the demand for travel to Thailand, including its rich heritage, beautiful natural environment and famous cuisine. The country remains an independent nation—it has never been colonized by any European power—and its name translates to "land of the free." Water transport, historically known as the "Venice of the East", remains an important part of life in Thailand today. Although there is no officially recognized religion, more than 90% of the inhabitants adhere to Buddhism, and the Thai language is predominant. In addition to being famous for exporting orchids, Thailand is also home to the world's smallest mammal, the bumblebee bat.

Thailand has long been a popular destination for rock climbers from all over the world; Railay Beach especially attracts many visitors each year. Phuket and Krabi (in the south of Thailand) also have facilities for all types of travellers, while Ko Pha Ngan and Koh Samui (in the east of Thailand) are quiet places for those who want to take a break from city life.

The pandemic has created various challenges for Thailand's tourism industry, but with the gradual lifting of global travel restrictions, it looks like a full recovery is on the way, although strict health regulations are still in place.
