Summer in Thailand began with incredible heat, reaching 52 degrees Celsius in some places. Extreme heat in several provinces was attributed to low pressure caused by southerly winds that cover the southeast, east and central regions of the country. But not only the heat awaits residents and tourists, thunderstorms and rains are also expected.
The Thai Meteorological Service said that as a result of low pressure, thunderstorms and rain are expected, especially in the provinces of Mae Khon Son, Chiang Mai, Tak and Phetchabun. However, on the west coast, seas can reach more than a meter during thunderstorms, and it is advised to be careful on small boats.
Thick fog is expected in the northern region, as well as thunderstorms and strong winds in some places, such as Mae Khon Son, Chiang Mai, Tak and Phetchabun provinces.
In the eastern part of the country, the weather will be sunny and hot with light rain and thunderstorms for several days. However, on the south coast, waves at sea can reach more than a meter during thunderstorms.
Finally, thunderstorms are expected on the west coast with heavy rain in some places. It is recommended to be careful on small craft during thunderstorms.
