Most of Pattaya's businesses, especially in the nightlife sector, with a few exceptions, have markedly returned to their 2019 activity levels. Mr. Damrongkiat Pinitkarn, Secretary of the Pattaya Inter-Team Association, said that the walking street has almost fully recovered from the covid-19 pandemic and is now welcoming foreign guests again.
However, Mr Damrongkiat warned that an influx of Chinese travelers next month could lead to a new surge in cases due to the spread of the virus on the mainland. He urged authorities and business owners to take the necessary precautions and asked them to be prepared for 35,000 cases a day in the coming weeks.
