Prime Minister's Approval
The Ministry of Interior of Thailand has approved a decree to implement an indefinite 60-day visa-free regime for citizens of 93 countries, including Russia and China. This move was endorsed by Prime Minister Srettha Thavisin.
Temporary Decree Still in Effect
In addition to the permanent agreement, the temporary 60-day visa-free entry for Russians, introduced by a separate decree from the Ministry of Interior of Thailand on April 30, remains in effect. This regime is valid until October 31 and was adopted unilaterally.
History of the Visa-Free Regime
The 60-day visa-free regime for Russian citizens has been in effect in Thailand since May 1, 2024, providing Russians with the opportunity to enter the country freely for this duration.
Increase in Tourist Flow
According to the Association of Tour Operators of Russia, 920,989 Russians visited Thailand in the first six months of 2024, indicating a 23% increase in tourist flow in June.
