The number of Russian tourists in Thailand increased 14 times in 2022, according to ATOR. The Tourism Authority of Thailand (TAT) reported that over the past year, 435,000 Russians visited the country, which is 1,314 percent more than in 2021, when only 30,759 citizens arrived.
January saw the highest level of tourism during the winter months, while March was the most popular month for spring visitors, August for summer travelers, and November for autumn travelers.
However, in terms of the total number of incoming tourists, Russia ranked ninth, with Malaysia in first place, India in second, and Singapore in third. TAT experts expect that by 2023 Thailand will restore the Russian tourist flow by about 60-65 percent, and about a million Russians will come to the country.
