In Ban Bung village, Tambon Na Khew, Loei Province, residents posted new photos on their Facebook pages, saying that Mount Phu Kho Noi is now ready to receive tourists. The photographs show the top of the mountain, covered with green grasses and trees, against the backdrop of a magnificent mist.
In March and April, drought and sweltering temperatures set off wildfires that reduced much of Phu Kho Noi and other Loei mountains to ashes. However, last month's early rains quickly washed away the memory of burned trees and grass, restoring greenery. The rains also filled dried up dry streams in the area.
The viewpoint on Mount Phu Kho Noi is popular with tourists who spend the night there to watch the sunrise and the sea of fog in the morning. The camping site on top of the mountain is usually deserted in winter, but tourists begin to arrive with the onset of the rainy season.
Tourists can get from the center of Na Have County to the top of the mountain using the transport of local residents. The trip takes about one and a half hours.
The restoration of Phu Kho Noi after the fires is an excellent example of the restoration of nature through natural forces. This delightful place again invites tourists to enjoy the beauty of the mountain mist and enjoy the morning sunrise.
