Violent crime in Thailand: death of a Canadian man and his wife over a parking lot dispute
Recently in a quiet area of the Thai province there was a shocking incident that claimed the lives of two people. A peaceful resident in a fit of rage deprived the existence of his neighbors - a visitor from Canada and his wife Thai.
As it became known, the tragedy happened on the basis of a long-standing feud between the homeowners, who regularly clashed over the parking of cars on the common territory.
The incident occurred around midnight local time. Police and paramedics rushed to the scene after receiving a report of an assault in the private sector. Law enforcers found the breathless bodies of the couple right on the doorstep of their own home.
Canadian-born Michael Nixon, 54, and his 47-year-old wife Anurak, a permanent resident, had been killed with extreme brutality. The man was stabbed three times in the abdomen and chest, while his companion was fatally stabbed in the abdomen. The weapon of the crime was a long 30-centimeter knife.
The murderer voluntarily surrendered to the police immediately after the crime. He turned out to be 36-year-old Kachornsak Panyadi, who rented a neighboring house. He confessed to the crime and handed over the bloody knife to the police.
It turned out that on that fateful evening between neighbors again quarreled over the cars of guests of the Nixon couple, blocking the entrance to the house Panyadi. When the visitors left, the man, driven to despair by years of conflict, decided to end the feud once and for all.
The investigation into the case is ongoing. Law enforcers find out all the circumstances and motives of this grave crime. The detained attacker was arrested, he faces the most severe punishment.
This domestic tragedy shocked local residents. The brutal murder of two people once again reminds of the value of human life and the importance of finding peaceful ways to resolve disputes.
