Tropical storms continue to rage in the northern part of Thailand, causing massive damage in different parts of the country. One of the most affected areas was the city of Chiang Mai, where the storm left a lot of destruction and death on its way. Several houses at the foot of Mon Jam Mountain in the Mae Rim area were severely damaged by heavy hail and rain that lasted for several hours. Many villages were left without electricity as the storm damaged power lines.
In addition to Chiang Mai, tropical storms also caused damage in Samoeng, Chomthong and Hot areas. The authorities have not yet received information about the destruction and casualties.
In Sa Khao in southeastern Thailand, the effects of storms were also seen. Several villages in Muang, Khao Chakan and Wattana Nakhon districts were hit by the storm. In Muang, 72 houses in six villages were damaged and one of the monks was injured. All roads leading to the affected villages were blocked by fallen trees.
In Nakhon Panom, the devastating effects of a tropical storm were also seen, which hit the areas of Tat Phanom and Renu Nakhon. At least 100 houses were damaged and several villages were left without electricity due to wind-blown poles. People who ended up in this zone got a lot of problems, including lack of food and water.
These storms are a common occurrence in Thailand, occurring every year between March and October.
