Thai sprinter Soraoat Dapbang dominates the 2023 Southeast Asian Games

Thailand's Soraoat Dapbang became champion in the 100m at Morodok Techo Stadium on 12 May with a time of 10.37, narrowly ahead of Singapore's Markom Brian Louis who finished second in 10.39. Bronze medal was won by Muhammad Haikal Hanafi from Malaysia.

Soraoat, 21, who had also won the 200m four days earlier, ran the distance alone, without his compatriot defending title, Puripol Bunson, in the race.

"There was so much pressure before the start," said the 21-year-old. - "I had the whole burden of responsibility. It was unusual for me, because in such races we always ran with my friend Puripol (Bunson).
