Awttapol Rerkpibun, President and CEO of PTT, has been appointed as the 33rd President of the Chulalongkorn University Alumni Association under the patronage of the King.
Auttapol, himself a university graduate, received the unanimous support of the association's 28 committees on Monday. PTT Public Co Ltd is the largest oil and gas conglomerate in Thailand. Awttapol expressed gratitude for his election to this position and stated that he will do his best for the university, working closely with all members of the association.
"I want to promote harmony among Chulalongkorn's alumni, regardless of generational differences, and encourage everyone to show their support for the university," he said.
He pledged to ensure that Chulalongkorn's reputation as a leading university in Thailand is maintained. Awttapol will take over as president of the association in mid-June, and his first task will be to select executive directors.
Auttapol graduated from Chulalongkorn University with a degree in Engineering. He received a master's degree in economics from the National Institute for Administration Development and a diploma in petroleum management from the College of Petroleum Research, Oxford. He is also Vice President of the Thai Swimming Association, Honorary Adviser of the Thailand-Laos Business Council, and Advisory Board Member of the Energy Industry Institute.
