One of the largest bus companies in Thailand, Transport Co, is offering travelers a 10% discount on bus tickets after the end of the Songkran holiday. This is the celebration of the traditional Thai New Year, which takes place from 13 to 17 April. At this time, most Thais go to their hometowns and villages to visit relatives, which leads to overloaded bus stations and traffic jams.
"We hope that our discount will help relieve stress at the bus terminals after the holiday and make travel easier for our passengers," said Sanyalux President Panvatanalikit.
Transport Co Member Card holders will receive double Bonus Points for each bus booking during the discount period. In addition, holders of the state social card can use up to 750 baht per month from their cards to buy bus tickets, but the purchase must be made in person at the box office.
Transport Co expects about 60,000 people to return to Bangkok every day from Sunday to Tuesday, and about 4,000 buses and minibuses will be deployed to transport them to ensure that no one is left without a way to get home.
However, in addition to the measures that the company is taking, drivers and passengers also need to follow road safety rules and not exceed the speed limit in order to reduce the number of accidents on the roads at this time of the year.
Transport Co cares about its passengers and does everything possible to ensure safety and comfort during the holidays.
