Local traditions and cultural heritage are the main magnet for tourists, said Governor Yuthasak Supasorn. He also noted that the focus is on creating compelling journeys through storytelling that highlights the idiosyncrasies of each local area.
The goal of the campaign is to diversify and expand tourism programs to lesser-known destinations and capitalize on tourism revenue, estimated at 2.38 trillion baht this year.
The concept of exploring secondary cities offers a new and interesting aspect for tourists. These trips have it all: natural beauty, cultural heritage and breathtaking sights.
The campaign will also help distribute tourism revenue that normally circulates in major cities and resorts to 55 secondary destinations across the country, helping to rebuild the tourism industry hit by the Covid-19 pandemic.
