The Tourism Authority of Thailand (TAT) has announced the launch of a new campaign offering travel promotions for as little as 100 baht to encourage Thais to travel during the week and work remotely.
TAT Deputy Governor for Domestic Market Tapani Kiatphaiboon announced the "Workation Thailand for as little as 100 baht" campaign at a press conference, noting that its goal is to increase domestic travel and hotel stays on weekdays by offering tourism products and services for as little as 100 baht. every.
The Tourism Authority has already implemented a similar project in 2020 during the COVID-19 pandemic. Its success confirms that "working vacation" has become a popular trend for a "new" life, especially among digital nomads.
The office work model has changed, and now employees can work from anywhere in the world and communicate with colleagues through online meetings.
The new campaign includes perks and discounts from leading travel agencies, especially for digital nomads and remote workers, to help them cut travel costs.
The campaign will support tourism business operators and could boost total domestic tourism revenue to 880 billion baht a year, Tapani added.
TAT's private partners in this promotion include the Tourism Business Association, the Thai Tour Operators Association, the Thai Travel Agents Association and the Domestic Tourism Business Association.
TAT will provide 100 baht vouchers that can be redeemed for travel goods and services on June 6, July 7, August 8 and September 9, Tapani said.
This is a unique opportunity offered by Thailand to combine work and leisure, allowing Thais to enjoy the beauties of their country without leaving far from home. The 'Workation Thailand for just 100 baht' campaign encourages domestic tourism and encourages people to use the flexibility of telecommuting to explore new places while fulfilling professional responsibilities.
