Thailand is looking forward to the arrival of top professional golfers for the SAT-NSDF Sogo (Malaysia) Senior Championship 2023 at the Phuket Country Club Golf Course in Kathu from April 25-27. More than 150 professional golfers from 13 countries, including Malaysia, Australia, Japan, the United States and South Korea, are expected to take part in the competition for a total prize pool of 2 million baht.
Thai Senior Professional Golf Association (TSPGA) President Soutine Daruniothin chaired a press conference on Monday attended by Phuket Country Club General Manager Chanwut Hongyok, SAT Phuket Office Assistant Director Pattaravut Arisarakultorn and Thai professional golfer Bunchu Ruangkit.
The tournament will be held in a 54-hole game format. Only 60 golfers qualify for the final round.
In addition to Bunchu, Thai golfers such as Prayad Marksaeng, Udorn Duandecha, Thavorn Weerachant and Sombun Lilahitikul will take part in the competition.
The TSPGA is grateful to the sponsors of the tournament, such as the store of the Malaysian department of Sogo, SAT and the National Sports Development Fund (NSDF), Soutine said.
The Thai President of the TSPCA also awarded 18 scholarships of 1,800 baht to students from various schools in the Kathu district of Phuket province who needed additional funding.
