Beaches
Thong Nai Pan Noi

The name Tong Nai Pan appears in two forms: northern Noi, and southern Yai. A rock separates them.

Quite wide (from 15 to 35 meters at low tide) and stretching 600 meters towards the beach, it has a well-groomed and equipped coastline. The sand is large, beautiful golden color. Cleanliness and order are constantly provided by employees of the best hotels.

The bottom stops quite steeply on detection, allowing you to dive with little or no care. The beach itself is located in a bay and is quite protected - sea waves are rare, and the waves themselves are not too big. The only drawback can be considered a lack of shade, but this is easily solved by consumption or in the morning in the evening, outside the midday sun period.

Thong Nai Pan Yai

The beach is a little longer and larger - as many as 800 meters of fine sand, about twenty meters wide, doubling at low tide. Entry into the water here is long - at a distance of 15 meters from the shore, the depth is only about a meter, and there are practically no waves. The bottom is clean and comfortable, only in the middle of the beach there are large boulders, while the left side is purely sandy, and there are a little more stones on the right. The beach is perfect for families with small children - the bottom is pleasant, and the water in shallow water heats up at low tide.

Haad Salad

Haad Salad is a beach in the northwestern part of Koh Phangan, located between Haad Yao and Mae Haad. It can be considered optimal in terms of amenities, distance from the central villages and the quality of the beach. In shape, it resembles the letter P, the length is about half a kilometer. The coast is fortified with stones. At the height of the tide, the water reaches almost to the coastal palms, leaving a very narrow strip of three meters.

Haad Yuan

Fenced from the main roads by the jungle and rocks, during periods outside of discos, Haad Yuan can serve as an ideal place for a secluded holiday. All party activity here takes place from Friday to Sunday in the Eden bar, and the rest of the time the beach is quiet and deserted. It is about three hundred meters long and resembles a triangle in shape (the widest part is 60 meters).

Than Sadet

Tan Sadet Beach is included in the boundaries of the national park, so they charge 100 baht for the passage. In the high season, there is a good water level. The beach itself resembles a small sandy arch or a horseshoe among the rocks, and this shape covers the beach well from the waves. The sand on the beach is large, and the sea is emerald green.

Haad Yao

This beach is very popular with our compatriots, and for good reason - it is long, with a straight coastline and a convenient descent into the water. At a distance of 5 meters from the shore it is already possible to swim, however, in the low season the tides are strong. The sand is soft and clean, and the entire area of the beach is carefully cleaned. There are no topchans here, but the rest is available - hotels, cafes, a minimarket.

Haad Yao is the perfect place to watch the sunsets - you can see them amazingly here.

Ao Chaloklum Bay

Chakoklum is a fishing village. But do not rush to think badly about her - she is very well-groomed and neat. Near the shore there are boats operating as a water taxi.

Chakoklum Bay is one of the largest beaches on Koh Phangan. In the central part there is a pier and boats, and on the left is Malibu beach.

It is best to swim slightly to the right of the pier - there is a clean bottom and clear water. At low tide, a rocky bottom comes out of the water on the right side of the beach, so it becomes not very convenient. Boats do not interfere with swimming - they are quite silent and do not run constantly.

Malibu

The most popular and crowded Koh Phangan beach is Malibu. The beach is an extension of Chakoklum, but, unlike it, Malibu has a lot of shade, exotic-looking ornamental plants around the beach, well-groomed and trimmed. The sand on the beach is white, the coast is wide - an average of 5-10 meters, and the largest area is a platform with an area of 50 by 50 meters.

Mae Haad

Mae Haad Beach is also quite famous. It is popular for its sandbank, which appears at low tide and along which you can walk straight to the neighboring island of Koh Ma. The photos are wonderful, more like advertising postcards, you just need to catch the low tide - during high tide you can also walk along the spit, the depth is about waist-deep for an adult, but it does not look so impressive. Gorgeous pictures can also be taken from the 360 bar, especially at sunset.

Haad Son (Secret Beach)

Haad Son, or the Secret Beach, is no longer a secret today. Tourists have long discovered this small beach in a bay hidden among the jungle. Although the coast is about a hundred meters long, only half is suitable for swimming - on the right there are rocks on which the hotel is built, on the left side there are a lot of boulders on which it is good to take photos.

Haad Rin

There are actually two beaches in Haad Rin, and usually when they say “Haad Rin beach”, this is the one they mean. It is a large and wide beach, about 700 meters long and 50 meters wide. The bottom is shallow, there are pebbles in the sea, but the water is clear, and the sand is very soft, fluffy and pleasant.

Even in the dry season, the water level is normal here, although one must be careful with reverse currents. There are many bars, hotels and restaurants on the beach, there are also water activities (aquabikes). Boats depart from here to neighboring beaches. It is here that the legendary Full Moon Party is held every month, so those who just want to sunbathe will have to make room.

Haad Rin Nai

Near the Coconut Beach Resort is a small, only 300 meters, Haad Rin Nai beach. This is a great quiet place for photography - the narrow pier leading into the sea is very beautiful, and the large stones are great for posing. There are swings on the beach in the shade among the palm trees.

Haad Knom

Haad Kom or Coconut Beach is a small beach in the north of Koh Phangan. Few get to it - the fact is that just next to the beach the concrete road ends, but Coconut itself is below the level of the track, so it is not so easy to notice.

And so it is a fairly wide beach, with a smooth seabed and plenty of shade. There you can snorkel among the coral and fish, or stay on the shore and get to know the local tame pig named Dukdik.

Haad Thien East

East Haad Tien Beach - a small strip of sand with dense vegetation around the edges. In some places, the trees come right up to the water, in general, there is a lot of shade. It is better to enter the water on the right, as there are stones under the water to the left and in the center. Haad Thian is considered the second of the party Saturday beaches.

The beach is known for its Guy's Bar, which some call Koh Phangan's cult spot thanks to the parties and the local permanent DJ. The beach can be reached by boat from Haad Rin or by jeep from the coast (according to reviews, an hour and a half to go).

Wai Nam

Wainam Beach is the third party beach on the east coast. Every week, on Saturday, there is music playing, fire shows, swimming and dancing.

It is small, located near a mountain and surrounded by rocks that do not allow access from neighboring Haad Tian and Haad Yuan. The bottom is steep, but the water is very clean and clear. Usually the beach is not very crowded, with the exception of party days.

Bottle Beach

Bottle Beach (in the local language Ao Haad Khuat, which, in fact, means “bottle beach”) is a wonderful beach for a relaxing tan and panoramic photos. Wide, almost straight, with pleasant fine sand and a good, albeit steep, entry into the water. In the center of the beach, a local river flows into the sea, which overflows during the rainy season and divides the sandy strip in half.

There are several hotels, cafes and boat rentals on the beach. There are several ways to get to Bottle Beach. The easiest is by boat from Chakoklum. More difficult - on foot along the trail. The path is signposted and ends just on the beach. The journey will take an hour and a half, it makes sense to take water with you. The latter method is suitable for desperate bikers - the turns are quite steep, and the road itself cannot be called good. The main rule is not to drive in the rain.

Haad Nam Tok

Small, about 50 meters long, Haad Nam Tok beach is considered wild. All that is on it is a canopy and several destroyed houses. Nearby is the abandoned Koh Phangan airport. You can get to the beach either on foot or by bike (if you are confident in your driving experience), but the descent to the beach is steep and the road, if you can call it that, passes over the rocks through the waterfall.

Previously, a concrete road led to this beach, but now it is completely destroyed. All water and food must be taken with you, and be sure to choose suitable shoes for descent and ascent.

Laem Son

In the western part of Koh Phangan there is a natural highlight of the island - the largest fresh lake Laem Son. Coconut palms and amazing casuarina trees grow around (the so-called "Thai Christmas trees" - tropical plants that look very similar to conifers).

The lake is popular both among the guests of the island and among local residents - they have picnics here on the shore in the shade of trees. There is a cafe nearby which is very convenient.
