The Ministry of Finance, through its Fiscal Policy Department, announced that the collection of government revenues for the first seven months of the current fiscal year (which began in October last year) exceeded the target by 8.9%.
Director of this department, Pornchai Thirawedja, said that during this period, the government collected 1.377 trillion baht, which is an increase of 7.4% compared to the same period of the last financial year.
A particularly notable success was the collection of tax revenues by the State Department of Revenue, which amounted to 1.07 trillion baht, exceeding the target by 11.1%. The main driver of this growth was the increase in corporate income tax revenues, Pornchai said.
The Customs Department also performed well, collecting 76.917 billion baht, 24.9% over target.
However, the Excise Department was slightly below target, collecting 276.901 billion baht, 16.3% below the target. This decrease is explained by a decrease in the excise tax on diesel fuel.
State-owned enterprises also contributed, transferring 104.935 billion baht, which is 10% more than planned.
Other agencies collected 137.861 billion baht, which is 66.8% more than the targets. These funds came from working capital and concession fees from mobile operators, as well as from an auction of FM radio licenses.
The results of the first seven months of the current financial year indicate a favorable situation for the government. Exceeding planned indicators speaks of positive dynamics in the collection of tax revenues and indicates the stability of economic growth. If this trend continues, the government will be able to fulfill its financial obligations more confidently and invest in the development of the country.
