New trade route between Thailand and China: a train delivering fresh durians in 5 days

The leader in logistics and cargo transportation, Pan-Asia Silk Road (PAS), together with partners, is launching a new historical route for delivering fresh durians from Thailand to China in just 5 days. The company will organize the opening ceremony of the "Thailand-Laos-China International Freight Train" on Wednesday, April 19th. The event will be attended by its co-owners Global Multimodal Logistics Co Ltd and Kaocharoen Train Transport Co Ltd, as well as partners and affiliates including State Railway of Thailand, PTT Plc, Oriental Merchant Express Co Ltd, and Asia Express Logistics Co Ltd.

The train will carry 25 containers of durians over a distance of 3,453 kilometers from Map Ta Phut station in Rayong to Guangzhou. In addition, PAS and its partners have prepared between 700 and 1,000 refrigerated containers for Thai exporters to ship their products, including durians, mangosteen and frozen seafood, to China.

Routes offer a cheaper, faster and safer way to deliver goods to China. The journey from Map Ta Phut to Kunming takes 3-4 days, to Chongqing 4-5 days, and to Guangzhou 5-6 days. PAS and its partners are trying to speed up the delivery process to meet the growing demand of Chinese consumers for quality fresh products from the Asian region.

The new shipping route for durians and other products has immediately attracted the attention of Thai exporters who are hoping to expand their markets in China. With fast delivery, they will be able to offer quality fresh produce to Chinese consumers faster.
