There is no air communication with the island. To get here, you need to make an international flight to Bangkok or Phuket, and then go to Chumpon, Surat Thani and Koh Samui by local airlines.

The easiest and fastest way to get to Turtle Island from the capital. You can use Bangkok Airways and Thai Airways services. Flight from Suvarnabhumi (Bangkok's main airport) to Koh Samui takes place every half an hour from 6 am to 10 pm. After arrival, you need to get to the pier, from which the flight to Koh Tao departs. You can do this by taxi.
We recommend planning logistics in advance and comparing the arrival time with the water transport schedule. Ferries depart from Bang Rak Pier (closest to the airport terminal) at 08:00, 13:00 and 16:30. From Nathon pier - at 11:15 and 17:00, and from Maenam - only at 12:30.
A variation of the first option for budget travelers. You can get to Chumpon, Nakhon Si Thammarat or Surat Thani, arrive at the pier and travel further on the water. You can buy a ticket to Koh Tao directly at the airports.
Chumpon is closest to the island, so it is more convenient to fly to it. It is also worth remembering that low-cost airlines and local companies operate flights from the “local” Don Muang airport. Traveling to it from the international airport is free, but consider the travel time so as not to get into an unpleasant situation.
Traveling by bus and ferry is popular among Russians due to low prices compared to other options. Buses from Lomprayah Catamaran and Songserm Express will take you from Bangkok to the pier at Chumpon, where boats depart from. Travel time - 2 - 3 hours.
The night train to Chumpon is more convenient than the bus - you can sleep on it. Organizers of delivery to Koh Tao take tourists from the station to the pier without payment. You need to get to Chumpon by 6 in the morning - transport to Turtle Island leaves at 7:00, and the train may be delayed.
