There are several options: taxi, bus, train.
There are several options: taxi, bus, train.
You should start with the most convenient way - it's a taxi. On it you can get to Pattaya from anywhere in the capital. The trip will last approximately 2.5 hours. The driver will ask you for 1700-2700 baht, but at the same time you will get there quickly and comfortably.
For such a trip, you should not catch a taxi on the street and get into the first car that comes across. It is better to use special applications (Grabtaxi or KiwiTaxi). That will be a little cheaper.
If you plan to travel by bus, then this method has a couple of options. The first is a transfer to the hotel. You can contact a travel company. They offer transportation from the center of Bangkok to any hotel in Pattaya. The cost of such a trip will be approximately 400 baht. We advise you to pay attention to the Bell Travel Service company. They have better deals than other travel agencies.
More buses to Pattaya depart from Ekamai and Mochit bus stations. From Ekamai, buses run from 5:00 to 23:00 every 30 minutes. They depart from East Terminal at the station. One ticket costs approximately 130 baht. The trip will take two hours. The bus goes along the route without stops.
If you plan to leave for Pattaya from the Mochit station, be prepared to go to the station with transfers. There is no metro nearby, so locals and tourists travel by taxi, bus or tuk-tuk.
From this bus station to go to Pattaya longer. Buses start running from 4:30 am to 11:00 pm. Flights are scheduled every 35-45 minutes. A bus ticket costs approximately 140 baht. The journey will take two and a half hours. The driver will take you to Pattaya North Bus Station. From here, buses leave for the capital.
To go back to Bangkok, you need to take a ticket to one of the above-mentioned bus stations or to the South Bus Station. The cost will be about the same.
There is another option - a trip by minivan. Small minibuses leave from the Central Festival shopping center and the main streets of Pattaya: Jomtien, Sukhumvit, etc.
The trip will take 2-2.5 hours and will cost you 120-170 baht.
Traveling by train is very cheap, but inconvenient. The trip will take four hours. There is only one train leaving Hua Lamphong every day at 6:55. It is very hot inside despite the windows and fans. But the ticket will cost 35 baht. This price is very attractive to locals and travelers. Of course, the Thai railway deserves the attention of tourists, but you need to explore it at least without luggage on your back.
Of course, it is best to take a taxi: quickly, comfortably, without strangers. To catch a car, you need to go down to the Level 1 parking lot. If you do not want to walk, take a taxi ticket from the ticket office. This pleasure costs 60 baht. There are a lot of taxi cars here, so you can quickly find the right option.
According to the rules, the driver must turn on the meter as soon as you get into the car. If he accidentally “forgot”, he should be reminded. There are times when drivers refuse to do this. You should not go with such a Thai, and you should inform the ticket office workers in the parking lot about the refusal.
For a taxi ride you will pay 1600-1800 baht. The cost will depend on the destination.
Level 2 also has taxi stands, but here the prices will be much higher. The cost for the trip starts from 2600 baht. More experienced tourists go to Level 4. Here you can catch a driver who has just brought other passengers. This is a good opportunity to save on taxis.
The hotel can also be reached by bus from the Bell Travel Service. The ticket will cost 300 baht. On the way you can be dropped off in any part of the city.
If you want to get on a regular bus, after arrival, immediately head to Level 1. There are ticket offices that offer Bangkok - Pattaya tickets. The cost of the trip is 130 baht. Buses start running from 07:00 to 22:00 at hourly intervals. By the way, there is a food court nearby where you can have a bite to eat.
The bus ride takes two hours. The driver makes a stop at Sukhumvit. Then it goes to Thap Phraya Office Airport Bus station. From here, tourists already get to the hotel on their own. Usually by taxi or songteo.
Basically, all planes arrive in Suvarnabhumi, but most low-cost airlines land in Don Muang. It is located closer to the northern part of the capital of Thailand.
For a taxi ride you will pay 1400-2000 baht. If you wish, you can install the KiwiTaxi application and order a transfer.
There is also an option to take a shuttle via Suvarnabhumi Airport. This is a pretty budget friendly way. Free buses from Don Muang to Suvarnabhumi run every 20 minutes from 05:00 to 00:00. Then you already get from Suvarnabhumi to the hotel.
A taxi from Don Muang to Suvarnabhumi will cost 400-600 baht. If there are no traffic jams on the road, you will reach it in 40-45 minutes.
Other options are longer. You can take a bus from the airport to Mochit Station. The ticket will cost 40 baht. To do this, you need to go to Gate 6 and find the A1 bus. He will take you to the city.
If you need to get from Pattaya to Don Muang, be prepared for transfers or a trip by minivan, because this is the only more or less convenient option. The fare will cost 180 baht. Minivans start running at 05:30 and the last one leaves at 19:30.
You will have to travel by bus with transfers: first to Mochit, and then to the airport. Another option is to drive to Suvarnabhumi and take the free shuttle here. In this case, you will only have to pay for the ticket to the airport.
