How to get to Krabi

From Phuket

The distance from Phuket to Krabi can be overcome both by land and by sea. At the same time, the second option is much shorter (60 km versus 200 km on the highway), so most tourists choose it. Also by water transport you can get to the islands of Phi Phi and Lanta, adding variety to your vacation. There are regular ferry services between the ports of Phi Phi, Lanta and Krabi.

By bus

Comfortable bus. A simple and affordable way for those who do not want to bother with renting a private car - to buy a ticket, you do not need to freeze a certain amount on a bank card and provide the necessary documents. Buses depart from the station in Phuket almost every hour. The park is equipped with modern air-conditioned vehicles.

Tickets are purchased at the railway station ticket offices or travel agencies. The fare, depending on the season, ranges from 130 to 170 baht. Estimated time on the road - 2.5 - 3.5 hours. A trip by mini-bus (which also often runs between cities) will cost a little more, but it will cover the distance in 2 hours.

On a ferryboat

Ferry crossing. If the traveler is not embarrassed by the high cost of the service and he is ready to part with the amount of 400 - 1000 baht, you can take the ferry. In addition to the most comfortable movement, this method of transportation allows you to see unforgettable seascapes.

Ferries depart from Rassada Pier. There are six flights in total: the first - at 9 am, the last - at 15:00 local time. This type of transport from Phuket to Krabi has an early booking service.

Car rent

Car rent. If you decide on carsharing, book transport via the Internet before the trip - it will be more profitable. You can use the convenient Economybookings portal. On average, rent will cost 500 baht per day, taking care of booking in advance, you can find more profitable options. During the trip, tourists are not limited in time, so we advise you to explore the famous Phung Chang Cave and the monastery located there.

By taxi

Taxi service. The option makes it possible to quickly get to the desired place, without thinking about studying maps and laying a route. However, the cost of the service "bites" - you will not find a taxi cheaper than 2000 baht.

Motorcycle rental

Bike rental. There are people who cannot imagine life without an "iron horse" and are always ready to hit the road on two wheels. But despite the fact that the track is in excellent condition, some difficulties cannot be avoided.

On the way you will meet several traffic police posts. And the climate is not conducive to constant exposure to the open sky - the merciless sun, heat and humidity. Before you decide on this adventure, evaluate your physical capabilities.

From Bangkok

There are only two options - by air or ground transport:

By plane

Airplane flight. Among all the ways of moving, this one is the most comfortable. A ticket for an adult passenger will cost from $50 to $150. Sometimes you can find an offer from low-cost carriers for $35, but such tickets come across so rarely that you should not count on them. Please note that there are two airports in Bangkok - Suvarnabhumi, considered the main air gateway of the country, Don Muang, used mainly for domestic flights.

Bangkok Airways and Thai Airways planes take off from the first, and low-cost aircraft from the second. Moving from one airport to another will take half an hour (for the convenience of tourists there is a special bus service). When planning a trip, keep in mind that the Krabi airport is located 14 km from the province itself and you won’t be able to get to the resort without the services of local bus carriers or taxis.

By bus

By intercity bus. Bangkok and Krabi are distant from each other - on the highway 780 km (11-14 hours on the move). It is more convenient to leave in the evening - in the morning there is only one municipal flight in the schedule, and after 17:00 there will be about a dozen of them. Tickets are sold through the box office of the Bangkok South Bus Station (cost - from 500 baht), but modern technology can reduce the time spent at the station and purchase it using the website in advance. The bus terminal in Krabi province is about 5 km away from the center.

Car rent

By rented car. If you take a car at an official rental, the rental price is only slightly higher than the price of a bus ticket (from 600 baht). However, this amount does not include fuel, for which you will spend more than 2,000 baht (gasoline for a ten-hour drive will need 70 liters). In addition, an insurance amount will be reserved on your bank card (from 4,000 to 10,000 baht, depending on the rented car). If the conditions suit you, book a vehicle in advance via the Internet - this is much more profitable.
