Prices in Pattaya: accommodation, transport and meals

Thailand is a relatively inexpensive country. If we talk about resorts, then Pattaya is one of the cheapest. There are very low prices for everything from food to housing. However, there are still a few items that will cost a lot. Among them are cheese, butter, various types of chocolate and alcoholic beverages. They are quite expensive.

In Thailand, it is very difficult to find black bread, buckwheat, sour cream and kefir. If in Russia these products are available in all stores, here even not all local residents are aware of their existence. In order for you to roughly understand the picture of pricing in Thailand, a few examples should be given.

Prices for accommodation in Pattaya

A room with a fan in a guesthouse will cost a minimum of 350 baht. If you plan to stay in Thailand for a month, you can find a room for 3700 - 4000 baht. For the same price, you can even rent a small apartment. As a rule, the rooms have a shower, and the use of wireless Internet is also included in the price. Some rooms have a TV.

If you want a room with air conditioning, you will have to pay a little more. The minimum cost is 550 baht per day. For a month you will pay 5600 - 7000 baht. In such rooms conditions are better. Guests have access to hot water, wireless Internet, TV, and there is also a refrigerator in the room.

Transportation prices in Pattaya

The cost of a ticket to the capital of Thailand is from 130 baht. For this amount you will get a seat in a comfortable air-conditioned bus.

A trip to Suvarnabhumi Airport will cost you 150-170 baht. If you leave the bus station, which is located in the northern part of Pattaya, the price will be higher - 250 baht. Some buses pick up passengers directly from the hotel.

A taxi ride will cost at least 1,000 baht. It is much more profitable to travel with a group of four people.

Travel by minibus to the island of Koh Chang will cost 500 baht. Travel time is approximately 4 hours.

Public transport in Pattaya is very cheap. A songteo (local minibus) ride around the city will cost 15-20 baht. If you plan to travel outside of Pattaya, you will have to pay 30-40 baht.

  • The fare for a motorbike taxi is at least 40 baht for a distance of approximately 1-2 kilometers.
  • If you prefer a tuk-tuk taxi, then the cost of the trip will be at least 120 baht.
  • If you need a motorbike for rent, then you can rent it at a price of 150 baht per day or 2500 baht per month.
  • If you prefer to use a car, the rental will cost from 800 baht per day.
  • For a trip to the island of Koh Lan, you need 50 baht for one way on the ferry.
  • If you want to buy a used motorbike, then the prices for them range from 15,000 to 20,000 baht.

Food prices in Pattaya

The minimum cost of lunch or dinner at a local cafe is 70-100 baht. For the same money you can buy food in the macaroni. These are small motorcycles with sidecars that work as mobile kitchens. They can be seen in any part of the city.

  • In Pattaya, prices for a typical lunch in a restaurant start at 350 baht.
  • If you prefer to cook on your own, then in Tesco Lotus or Big C hypermarkets you can buy a portion of rice with eggs for only 40 baht.
  • You can also order a portion of rice from 30 baht in meat skewers, and meat on skewers will cost from 30 baht.
  • If you need a 0.6 liter bottle of water, then its price is 15 baht, and a 1.5 liter bottle of water costs 30 baht.
  • Large bottles of 6 liters cost from 60 baht.

Pattaya street food

This is the cheapest way to eat. The street is full of different tents and macaroons, the owners of which offer tourists to taste the most popular Thai dishes.

Street food prices may vary. It all depends on the area and the time of day. Some merchants deliberately inflate prices for tourists. Almost all of these "institutions" do not have price tags. Locals already know the cost of their favorite dish, but tourists will have to ask. It's better to do it in advance.

Approximate prices for some dishes that you can meet:

  • Mini sausages - the cost is about 20 baht.
  • Fried egg - you can get it for about 20 baht.
  • Fried corn - the price is about 50 baht.

  • Rice with shrimp, egg and vegetables - such a dish can be found for about 30-50 baht.

Prices for cafes and restaurants in Pattaya

There are really a lot of them in Pattaya. Prices are also different everywhere. It all depends on the degree of popularity of the place, the level of service, interior and location. The average check in a more or less decent restaurant is 700-1400 baht. In a cafe you will pay less - about 300-500 baht.

Prices for fruits and vegetables

The cost of a particular fruit will depend on the season. Prices in winter can be very different from those in summer. But there are a lot of fruits and vegetables in Pattaya.

Approximate food prices in Thailand:

  • Pineapple costs from 30 baht apiece.
  • Coconuts start at 30 baht.
  • Bananas cost 50 baht per 1 kg.
