At first it may seem that it is not so big, but it is not. During the day, this lake looks completely different. Unfortunately, swimming in the lake is prohibited, but there are many other water activities.

Locals and tourists can rent a catamaran. There are also zip-lines and quad bikes. You can also fish here, but for this it is better to go to a more remote place where people do not walk and there are no establishments. You will not see signs here that say "fishing is prohibited" and so on. No surcharges for a fishing rod and fines. Thais calmly sit down on the shore and start fishing.

There are many dams and lakes in Thailand. The most popular of them is Cheow Lan, but locals also advise tourists to visit Mae Ngat. This lake is located in Si Lanna Park and it is very beautiful here. If you wish, you can rent a boat to enjoy the picturesque scenery.

Mae Ngat Sombun Chon is the full name of the lake, but the Thais decided to shorten it to Mae Ngat. If you look, it's not even a lake, but a reservoir. Its area is 16 km2. Lake Cheow Lan is about 10-11 times larger.

Not far from Chiang Mai is a canyon. The Thais even call it the Grand Canyon. In fact, this is a quarry, and the word "grand" does not fit him at all.

It is located about 20 km southwest of the city center. On the road you can see a small sign with the inscription "Grand Canyon". It is better to follow in this direction, and not on the navigator. Some maps will show you a different path that will not take you to the quarry itself. At the end of the path you will see tall houses that will not allow you to pass further.
