Temple Wat Plai Laem

Perhaps one of the most important places on the island to visit is Wat Plai Laem. This is not just a Buddha temple, it is a complex of structures that combines several styles of Asian baroque architecture: Thai, Chinese and Indian.
In the center of the complex, a huge and most amazing statue of the goddess of mercy Guanyin was erected. Usually she is depicted with 18 arms around her body, very similar to a fan from a distance.
The statue of the goddess is located in the middle of the lake next to the temple and seems to be floating above the water. And to the north of this figure is a statue of the Buddha himself.
Once here, be sure to explore the entire complex - this incredible atmosphere, picturesque and photogenic buildings deserve attention. What is interesting: the temple was built relatively recently and it opened in the recent 2004.
