On Koh Samui, most of the population are Buddhists. Therefore, almost all sights are dedicated to this direction in religion. The most important statue of the island is the Big Buddha. You won't see this anywhere! The figure is huge, 12 meters high. A whole small island was allocated for the statue, which is connected to Koh Samui by an earthen road and is located in the northeast of the region.
One of the main waterfalls of the resort is Namuang. In fact, this is not one, but two waterfalls, while they are very different from each other. Geographically, the waterfalls belong to the same river. One of them is located right in the center of Koh Samui and is about 20 meters high. At the foot of the waterfall formed a great pool where you can swim. It is best to come here during the monsoon season, when the water with a stronger stream falls off the rocks. And in dry weather, there simply will not be such a spectacular sight.
At the foot of the lower Namaung waterfall, there is a safari park. A great place for families with children or lovers of exotic animals and birds. But if you belong to a group of animal rights activists, then it is better not to visit this park, because it looks more like a zoo with not very good quality of keeping animals. The usual safari is still associated with a well-groomed nature reserve.
