Khantalai Temple differs from typical Thai sanctuaries in its modesty and lack of grand roofs and impressive dragon staircases. Here is a modest wooden hut, which is decorated with only a few colorful ribbons and a couple of statues. In the center of the temple, on a high pedestal, stands the majestic statue of the Golden Buddha, which attracts daily local residents of Koh Lipe who want to pray and take strength from the shrine.
Despite the modesty and simplicity, the Khantalai temple has an incredibly strong energy, enveloping visitors with an atmosphere of peace and tranquility. The traditional daily activity of the monks of the sanctuary - a campaign for donations at an early dawn - adds spiritual power and strength to this place, attracting pilgrims to it from all over the area.
